But after\nwelcoming her second child, she has\ndecided to focus on something even more\nimportant than her job, her two children\nand her husband. President Trump praised\nLevit as one of the best White House\npress secretaries ever and that he\ntotally respects her decision while\nnoting she will now serve as one of his\ntop adviserss. the youngest to ever hold\nthe title of White House press\nsecretary, explained her decision on X,\nposting, \"Being a mother and welcoming a\nnew baby while working in one of the\nmost demanding jobs in the world has\nbeen the most rewarding yet challenging\nseason of my life, to say the least. The\ntruth is, since returning to the White\nHouse after the birth of my daughter, I\nhave felt in my heart that I cannot be\nthe best mom to my two young children\nthat they deserve while devoting the\nconstant time, energy, and attention\nrequired of the White House press\nsecretary. And that is why I have\nultimately made the bittersweet decision\nto depart the White House and embark on\na new chapter in my life. Well, no\nshortage of wishes for Caroline Levit\nwith Vice President JD Vance, chief of\nstaff Susie Wilds, and Erica Kirk\npraising her work as press secretary and\nas also a mom. Your thoughts, Kennedy?\n>> Uh, that's an incredibly tough decision\nfor a woman as accomplished as Caroline\nLevit. Uh, because, you know, she's one\nof those press secretaries who has the\npresident's ear. She is actually in the\nroom when those discussions are had and\nwhen the decisions are made. And that's\nbecause of her competence and you know\nher her just inexpressable ability to do\nthe job she has done so well. Having\nsaid that, you know, we've had newborns\nand it is so demanding and you cannot\npossibly uh give out the energy that is\nrequired for both those jobs. And I know\nit must have been a very difficult\ncostbenefit analysis for her and her\nheart and her family won. And that is\ntruly for her the best case scenario\nbecause she leaves with so much\ngoodwill, you know, at the absolute peak\nof her career thus far. And you know,\nwhenever she decides to get back onto\nthe carousel, which is one of the\nelements of anxiety that new moms have,\nyou know, if I stay home, will I be able\nto go back? And she most certainly will.\nAnd we also have to create a culture\nwhere women feel safe to take time off\nto be with their children for a number\nof years. So, God bless her for making\nthat decision.\n>> I love that. And a lot of women across\nthis country struggle with this decision\nto your point. I mean, that is the\nhardest decision to leave, especially if\nit's a great job. God bless anybody that\nwants to be press secretary at the White\nHouse in any administration. Uh our our\ncolleague Kayie Mcinady, Dana Pino, I\nmean, God bless them for taking on that\nrole. It's tough. At the same time, you\nknow, working moms across the country\nalways have to take that gamble if they\ndecide they want to be home with their\nkids. And what an amazing commitment to\nyour children. Uh, the good news is\nCaroline Levit is young and she can come\nback and I can tell you multiple stories\nof women that took a time maybe they\ntook a year, two years, five years away\nfrom a job, be home with your kids,\nespecially when they're young because\nyou don't get that time back as you all\nknow because you're parents and you\nknow, but then to go back and say,\n\"Okay, I'm going to I'm going to\nre-enter the workforce.\" It is not easy.\nIt is a risk. But I do applaud Caroline\nLever for making that decision and it\nmust have been hard for her to do so.\n>> Marcus,\n>> well, talent doesn't have Excuse\n[clears throat] me. talent doesn't have\nan expiration date. So, she'll be\nequally as talented. And as a as a only\nchild boy, I love the fact that my mom\nworked two jobs. And yes, I didn't get\nto see her as much, but there are\nfinancial requirements that people have\nto be able to do that. She has the\nblessings of being able to make that\nchoice. There are a lot of working moms\nout there that want to do that that\njuggle and balance and have to still\nmake a living and pay for their kids. I\nthink this really is something that\nemployers should pay attention to and I\nthink employers should actually\nencourage people to find the balance in\ntheir life and if you are as talented as\nI know you are, your spot's going to be\nhere and in the interim we're going to\nfind ways for you to keep busy even if\nyou want to work part-time and I think\nthis administration handled it with\nclass and I think a lot of employers\nneed to do the same.\n>> I have some thoughts on that but I want\nto go to Emily first. I it reflects to\nme in the response exactly what this\nadministration has said that they stood\nfor and with that we know they have\nwhich is support for mothers and\nprioritizing the family and the fact\nthat she is being sent off with such\nincredible immeasurable support by\neveryone. Um, this just is another\nexample of how this administration walks\nthe walk. And we know that in policy,\nright, for the with the first Trump\nadministration, they set policies in\nplace for working mothers and new\nmothers so that they would have the\nbenefits that they deserve. Um, I I of\ncourse her t she is incredible. She is\nthe most brilliant, articulate person,\nno notes, half my age. I'm like, \"Oh my\ngosh, bottle that [laughter] up and\nsmell it, sister.\" Um, so yes, I think\nher future is just as bright as she is\nand just as bright as her newborn is. I\ntell you what, hire a working mother.\nHire a mom. Talk about multitasking.\nIt's so true. It is. It is a skill set\nthat\nthat\n>> do more than hire.\n>> I mean,\n>> let them run your business.\n>> There you go.\n>> Let them run your business. I find them\nto be the best leaders in the businesses\nI'm involved in.\n>> I love it doesn't have an expiration\ndate because everybody knows I was 40\nand you know when you step away from\nyour career at that point, you have with\nGod's blessings built something big and\nI have and to step away at that point\nwas hard.
